Job Title: Distribution Planning EngineerLocation: Richmond, VA (Hybrid – 3 days)Duration: 12-Month Contract-to-HireCompensation: $45-50/hr (Final Compensation will be dependent on skillset and experience)Overview:We are seeking a Distribution Planning Engineer to support a Fortune 500 utility company in Richmond, VA. This team focuses on electrical distribution infrastructure and planning efforts tied to delivering power to residential, commercial, and infrastructure customers.Responsibilities:Support distribution planning and electrical infrastructure projectsPerform engineering analysis, load calculations, and system planning activitiesAssist with reliability, capacity, and voltage-related evaluationsCoordinate with internal teams, vendors, and customers on multiple projectsSupport utility distribution design, upgrades, and infrastructure improvementsReview drawings, technical documentation, and engineering standardsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering3+ years of experience in distribution engineering, power systems, utility infrastructure, or related electrical engineering workExperience with utility or power systems environments preferredExposure to tools such as Synergi, ETAP, CYME, SCADA, GIS, or similar software is a plusStrong communication and coordination skillsPreferred Backgrounds:Distribution Planning EngineerDistribution EngineerPower Systems EngineerTransmission EngineerUtility EngineerSubstation Engineer
