Job description PURPOSE: The Trucking Fleet Maintenance Workshop Supervisor will oversee a team of mechanics to perform maintenance and repairs on tractor-trailer big rigs and flatbed semi-trailers. Overall experience with tractor-trailer big rigs is required. Experience as a supervisor is required. The Supervisor will report directly to the Trucking Maintenance Manager. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include, but are not limited to, the following: Maintain regular attendance at work and be consistently on time. Be present at the designated work site for a minimum of 40 hours per workweek, as established by the Manager. Participate in and manage others in a 24-hour on-call rotation. Adhere to established methods by Tenaris for equipment maintenance. Maintain and participate as a supervisor and working team member of the Tenaris Midland Truck Maintenance Shop. Manage a team of mechanics daily, including distributing daily tasks, payroll timekeeping, and managing team members' PTO. Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes. Ensure repairs are completed as needed, including documentation of work in compliance with U.S. DOT regulations. Maintain on-going shop security, safe working conditions, and adherence to shop and Tenaris policies and procedures, conforming to OSHA safety policies and procedures. Assure all DOT, Federal, and State regulations are followed and adhered to. Diagnose operational problems and assure they are corrected to Tenaris and U.S. DOT standards for over-the-road tractors and trailers. Examine parts and determine if there is a need for repair or replacement. Perform other duties as assigned. Travel as needed for training and service-related tasks. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), preferably supplemented by courses at a Vo-Tech or trade school in automotive/diesel repair and maintenance. Ability to perform and oversee all aspects of fleet repairs, including but not limited to mechanical, hydraulic, welding, a/c, fabrication, and minor body repairs. A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License is required (Supervisor must be able to test drive and transport equipment). Clean driving record. Knowledge of U.S. DOT Commercial Vehicle standards is required. U.S. DOT Brake Inspection certification is required. U.S. DOT Annual Inspection certification is required. Commercial vehicle electrical system experience is required. Some knowledge/experience with computers and software is a must. Over-the-road breakdown experience is a plus. Knowledge and use of diesel engine and diesel exhaust aftertreatment diagnostic software is preferred. (MACS) Air conditioning certification is preferred. Heavy-duty wheel end certification is preferred. Tenaris supplies all necessary tools, software and equipment. All applicants must pass a background check and a drug screen.
