The role requires versatility across multiple trades and the ability to respond effectively to work orders, unit turnovers, and general property upkeep. Key Responsibilities: o Renovate vacant units to prepare for occupancy o Maintain common areas and ensure overall property cleanliness and safety o Perform repairs and maintenance in areas including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting pathways, etc. o Repair and maintain building systems and components, including: o Plumbing fixtures, valves, and pumps o Heating system components o Electrical switches and minor electrical components o Appliances such as stoves and refrigerators o Windows, doors, and other wood structures o Complete required maintenance documentation and work order records o Work in various environmental conditions, including snow, heat, dust, and inclement weather Qualifications: o Experience in general building maintenance required o Strong working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems o Preference given to candidates with specialized experience in plumbing and/or electrical work & prior history working for a Housing Authority. o Basic computer skills and familiarity with work order systems, Microsoft software o Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks Requirements: o Must be in good physical condition and able to lift up to 70 pounds o Ability to provide emergency on-call coverage and carry a cell phone o Valid Massachusetts driver's license required o Must pass a CORI (background) check Compensation & Benefits: o Full-time position with benefits Application Instructions: Submit a cover letter and resume by April 23, 2026 to: Douglas Batchelder, Director of Maintenance & Modernization E mail: douglas@ipswichhousing.comrecblid zq3ok0mreyha6sjjioqacv7uug2iim
