Forklift Driver - 1st Shift

Forklift Drivers are an essential part of BCI’s on time customer delivery guarantee. Forklift Drivers are responsible for loading, unloading, stacking and staging corrugated products and materials in a safe and timely fashion.DutiesFollow established safety policies and procedures at all timesMaintain a current Lift Truck Operator License and operate it in a safe mannerComplete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forkliftComplete maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairsReceive trailer loads of corrugated and scan into inventory using hand-held scannersLocate stock before the start of the run using Amtech computer softwareDeliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on timeRemove finished goods from machinesMaintain neat, orderly and safe stacks of stock in storage areasRead a tape measure with accuracy and calculate figures and amounts, such as percentages and measurementsRead and follow instructions on factory mastersComplete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely mannerMaintain accurate location of stock in storage area by paperwork and Amtech computer softwareLoad trailers with finished product according to shipment plansAccurately bill out product being shipped using Amtech SoftwareHand stretch wrap units and band units to a pallet by using a hand-banderAssist other forklift operators as necessaryComply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeepingAdditional duties may be assigned by managementFull-time role in a manufacturing plant/warehouse settingSkill SetWorking knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operationsProblem-solving involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situationsWorking knowledge of product layouts, specifications and quality standardsExcellent written, verbal and graphic instructions skillsComputer and typing skillsUnderstanding of basic math Qualifications DesiredPrior work experience in the corrugated packaging industryExperience as a forklift operatorHigh school diploma or equivalent$20 - $22 an hourAbout BCIBuckeye Corrugated, Inc.
