The Occupational Therapist position reports to the Location Lead.Expectations:Perform patient care and related activities in accordance with best practice/evidence-based practice guidelines, while following an individualized plan of care based upon evaluation/reassessment findings according to clinical guidelinesCompletes patient evaluations and reassessments in accordance with clinical, insurance and practice guidelinesCommunicates effectively with patient/family/therapists/physicians and other health care professionals to promote quality patient carePerforms patient care and related activities within the scope of their training and responsibilities, demonstrating basic clinical competenciesProvides instruction/education to patients and families/caregivers with accurate and thorough information consistently to patients and families concerning their participation in the continuity of careAssesses patient and family needs regarding their level of understanding, ability to assimilate information and the most desirable method of teachingHave a working knowledge about Sensory Integration, Visual Training, Sensory Feeding Therapy, Handwriting, Fine Motor, and ReflexesDocuments patient information in Electronic Medical Record according to office policies and clinic guidelines in timely mannerMaintains a current awareness and participates in office quality activitiesParticipates in staff development and attends health, safety and training in-services and other obligatory activitiesCOTA supervision available, if interestedPerforms other essential functions as neededRequirements:Master's Degree in Occupational TherapyCurrent Texas license to practice as an Occupational TherapistMust be articulate, courteous, and supportive in dealing with clinical and administrative colleagues, patients and parents with ability to honor confidentialityTwo years pediatric clinical experience preferredAbility to arrive to assigned locations on time and maintain regular, reliable attendance.Ability to work scheduled hoursMeticulous attention to detail over the course of the workdayAbility to sustain physical and mental activity throughout a scheduled workdayAbility to remain calm and professional in emotionally charged or high-stimulation environmentsAbility to lift and carry up to 30-40 pounds occasionallyAbility to maintain prolonged standing or sittingAbility to maintain required licensure, certifications, and eligibility to work in the United States throughout employmentAbility to sit, stand, bend, twist, and reach throughout the workdayOther duties as assigned.Salary Description
