Job Description
**If you want to get into the traveling Trades**Trades Resource is seeking experienced Traveling Aerospace Quality Inspectors to support aerospace and defense manufacturing operations across the United States.This role is ideal for inspectors who are comfortable stepping into active production environments and immediately supporting in-process, final, and first article inspections while ensuring full compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, and customer-specific requirements.Assignments may range from short-term surge support to long-term production programs.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform in-process, first article (FAI), and final inspections of precision machined and fabricated aerospace componentsInterpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and specificationsConduct dimensional inspections using:CMM (PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS, or similar)Height gauges, micrometers, calipers, bore gaugesOptical comparatorsSurface finish testersVerify material certifications and traceability documentationReview and validate:Inspection reportsTravelers and routersNonconformance reports (NCRs)Support Root Cause & Corrective Action investigationsEnsure compliance with:AS9100ISO 9001NADCAP (when applicable)Customer-specific aerospace requirementsCollaborate with Engineering, Production, and Manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues quicklyRequired Qualifications5+ years of aerospace quality inspection experienceStrong working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)Experience inspecting:Tight tolerance machined componentsStructural assembliesPrecision metal parts (aluminum, titanium, Inconel, stainless)Ability to read blueprints and complex aerospace documentationExperience working in AS9100 environmentsWillingness to travel nationwideStrong documentation and reporting skillsPreferred QualificationsCMM programming experienceExperience with:First Article Inspection per AS9102NADCAP processes (heat treat, welding, NDT, coatings)NDT certifications (PT, MT, UT, etc.)Aerospace OEM or Tier 1 supplier experienceExperience supporting backlog reduction or program launchesTravel & CompensationCompetitive hourly pay (based on experience)Guaranteed OvertimePer diem weeklyWeekly payOpportunity for contract-to-hire placementCompany DescriptionWhat Trades Resource Does: Support Manufacturing sites with Staffing Positions from contract to Direct Hire!
