The goal is to deliver the required flow and send product to the processing plant. The Dredge Operator will control the movement and positioning of a cutterhead dredge and controls the consistency of the slurry entering the pump. This opportunity is a rare chance to create from the ground floor and participate in a mine operation with multiple decades of reserves. This role is multifaceted, high impact and imperative to the success of Atlas Energy. This is a full time position with Atlas Energy that includes benefits, housing and a rotational schedule.Responsibilities:Primary operator of the dredge to manage delivery of product to plant for processing adhering to dredge.In depth knowledge of cutterhead dredge operationAdvances dredge using multiple anchoring arrangements and spuds,Familiar with Diesel and/or Electric cutterhead dredgesMonitors controls, gauges, and depth meters to ensure optimal dredge operationManage shore work and work with Dredge Lead/Engineer with moving water anchorsAid mechanics in completing daily preventative maintenanceOperates swinging ladder and/or cable deployed dredge systems to excavate sand from mine pit.Complete and document equipment inspections, escalating any deficiencies, and ensure safe and compliant operationsRecognize potential maintenance problems by sight and sound and inform maintenanceEnsure dredge has adequate supply of tools, fire extinguishers, first aid supplies and safety equipmentAble to understand, interpret, and execute instructions given in both verbal and written formAlways adhere to all MSHA rules and regulationsFollow all safety protocols and safety standards.Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by supervisorQualifications:Strong technical knowledge of dredge operationsMinimum 5 years experience operating and maintaining marine dredging equipmentExperience with operating and maintaining heavy equipment is an assetExperience in equipment reliability and condition monitoringPhysical DemandsRegularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hearRequired to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, sit and climb or balanceMust regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusCapable of working a rotating shift; 14 days on, 7 days off.
