We need a senior technical leader who can own architecture, protect production stability, lead development execution, and build the systems that turn operational scale into patient impact and revenue capture. This is not a back-office IT role. This is a high-impact, business-critical engineering leadership role embedded directly into the operating engine of a fast-growing healthcare company.About the RoleThe Senior Architect / Lead Engineer will own the technical architecture, system design, production stability, code standards, deployment control, and hands-on development of Wellness Care’s core operating technology. This role will serve as the senior technical owner for a hybrid development model, with key technical and product leadership kept in the U.S. and execution support provided by both U.S. and nearshore developers and QA resources.The right candidate is both a strong architect and a hands-on builder. You must be comfortable making technical decisions, writing code, reviewing code, stabilizing production workflows, creating development standards, and translating urgent business needs into scalable software solutions. This role will also be responsible for evaluating where AI can safely and meaningfully accelerate human care. The goal is not to replace the care team. The goal is to use AI to reduce administrative drag, improve documentation quality, surface patient needs faster, strengthen care plan execution, and give Care Pros, nurses, doctors, and operators more leverage.ResponsibilitiesArchitecture & Technical Direction Own system architecture for Wellness Care’s care coordination, intake, scheduling, reporting, billing-readiness, care plan, workbench, and workflow technology.Design scalable solutions that support rapid growth across patient acquisition, care operations, clinical workflows, revenue-cycle readiness, and patient engagement.Create and maintain technical standards, data-flow documentation, source-control expectations, and deployment practices.Ensure new development strengthens the platform instead of creating fragmented one-off tools.Assess the existing backlog of feature requests and help convert it into an executable, prioritized technical roadmap.Feature Backlog & Product Execution Partner with the Product Manager / Technical PM and business leaders to triage, prioritize, and execute the backlog of feature requests.Separate urgent revenue, compliance, clinical, and operational needs from lower-priority enhancements.Translate vague business requests into clear technical requirements, development tickets, acceptance criteria, and release plans.Create a disciplined process for moving requests from idea → scoping → development → QA → release → adoption.Ensure feature development is measured against business outcomes, including activation, billing readiness, operator efficiency, patient care quality, and production stability.Disease-Specific Care Plan Rollout Lead the urgent technical rollout of disease-specific care plan functionality.Build and support workflows that allow care teams to manage condition-specific patient needs, goals, interventions, escalation rules, and monthly care activities.Ensure care plan functionality supports Wellness Care’s disease-focused teams, including heart, lung, weight and diabetes, pain, cancer, and other emerging clinical programs.Partner with clinical leaders to ensure care plan tools are usable, structured, clinically relevant, and scalable.Build reporting and visibility into care plan completion, care plan updates, patient progress, escalation activity, and care team performance.Care Pro & Nurse Workbench Functionality Own the technical roadmap and buildout for Care Pro and Nurse workbench functionality.Create tools that help Care Pros and nurses know what to do next, which patients need attention, what documentation is missing, and which issues require escalation.Improve queue management, task visibility, patient prioritization, care plan execution, documentation flow, and handoff clarity.Reduce copy/paste work, duplicate entry, manual tracking, and operational friction.Build workbench functionality that supports patient stickiness, care continuity, escalation management, and monthly CCM execution.Scheduling Refresh Lead the technical refresh of scheduling workflows and related functionality.Improve scheduling accuracy, provider utilization, slot fill, no-show recovery, same-day appointment visibility, and exception reporting.Build tools that help operators identify unscheduled patients, missed appointments, reschedule needs, provider capacity gaps, and activation bottlenecks.Support faster movement from enrollment to completed initiating visit.Ensure scheduling improvements reduce revenue leakage and improve the patient experience.AI Acceleration for Human Care Determine where AI can be used as an accelerator for human care across clinical, operational, documentation, scheduling, reporting, and patient engagement workflows.Evaluate AI use cases that reduce administrative burden while preserving human judgment, clinical oversight, and compliance standards.Identify opportunities for AI-assisted documentation, care plan drafting, patient prioritization, call summarization, workflow recommendations, quality checks, and reporting insights.Build or integrate AI tools only where there is clear business value, workflow fit, data safety, and appropriate human review.Create guardrails so AI supports care teams without making unsupervised clinical decisions.Ensure AI implementation strengthens patient care, operator efficiency, and documentation quality without creating compliance, privacy, or patient-safety risk.Hands-On Development Build high-priority features directly when speed, complexity, or business sensitivity requires senior technical ownership.Lead development work across intake workflow improvements, Complex CCM workflow support, scheduling optimization, billing-readiness tools, dashboards, reporting, workbench functionality, care plan tooling, and operational automation.Troubleshoot urgent production issues and create
