BookkeeperThe position of Bookkeeper serves to assist with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the financial records for multiple companies within MAF Hospitality. This position requires successfully being able to work on multiple projects for the companies in an organized and timely fashion.Qualifications:Minimum 5 years bookkeeping experienceGood knowledge of standard accounting practicesExcellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasksStrong attention to detailWorking knowledge of computers, 2 years' experience in QuickBooks, MS Office and point of sale systems are required. Must possess the ability to learn new software programs as needed; openness to learning new software, including hospitality point of sale systemsAble to establish and maintain effective client relationships and communicate efficientlyDuties and Responsibilities:Bookkeeping Tasks:Responsible for submitting payroll to the company's payroll processor once completed and approved by HRPerforms monthly bank reconciliationsResponsible for accounts payableFiling bills, payments, invoices, purchase orders, etc.Makes regular sales tax payments to the stateAssist in reporting wine sales to PLCB & TTBEntering sales from POS system into QuickBooksMaintains open line of communication with accountant and assures reporting is up to dateGeneral Office Tasks:Maintain records of insurance requirements and process monthly billings from insurance providers.Opening mail and distributing properlyOrdering office suppliesOther related duties as assignedKey Performance Indicators:Accuracy in all aspects of bookkeeping roles and responsibilities: payroll, payables, receivables, sales tax, bank reconciliations, PLCB reportingTimeliness in completing all required financial reportsMaintains accurate and complete financial filesMaintains organized, accurate and up to date employee filesIs a strong team player and maintains open communication between all departmentsBenefits:Competitive compensation packageMedical insurance optionsPaid holidays and vacationCompany discountsClear path for growth and career advancementExcellent opportunity with growing brandPhysical requirements:This position requires the manual dexterity sufficient to operate phones, computers, and other office equipment. The position requires the physical ability to kneel, bend and perform light lifting. This person must have the ability to write and speak clearly using the English language to convey information and be able to hear at normal speaking levels both in person and over the telephone. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
