Conformal Coating Operator / Mechanical Assembler
Job Summary:The Conformal Coating Operator / Mechanical Assembler is responsible for performing conformal coating applications on printed circuit boards (PCBs) and assemblies per established procedures and specifications. This role also includes performing mechanical assembly, ensuring all products meet quality, workmanship, and safety standards.Key Responsibilities:Prepare, mask, and clean PCBs prior to coating to ensure proper adhesion and coverageApply conformal coating using manual, selective, or automated equipment in accordance with process sheets, work instructions, and customer requirementsInspect coated assemblies for proper coverage, thickness, and defects such as bubbles, bridging, or contaminationPerform touch-up and rework as necessary following IPC and company standardsMix, measure, and maintain coating materials following safety and handling proceduresOperate curing ovens and ensure correct curing cycles are followedPerform basic mechanical assembly tasks including installation of hardware, brackets, panels, and other componentsRead and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and work ordersUtilize hand tools, torque drivers, and basic mechanical equipment safely and effectivelyMaintain accurate production and inspection records in ERP or traveler systemsFollow ESD, FOD, and safety procedures at all timesCollaborate with engineers and quality inspectors to address coating or assembly issuesSupport continuous improvement efforts to enhance product quality and process efficiencyQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required1–3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, conformal coating, or PCB assembly preferredFamiliarity with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 workmanship standards is desirableBasic mechanical aptitude and ability to use small hand toolsAbility to read and understand technical drawings, work instructions, and safety data sheetsStrong attention to detail and ability to perform visual inspectionsComfortable working in a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environmentAbility to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periodsWorking Conditions:Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to chemicals, solvents, and curing equipmentUse of PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, and lab coats requiredMay involve working with UV lighting and chemical fumes (proper ventilation provided)Powered by JazzHRSyTmdfVCnp
