Job Description
The Ohio Attorney General’s Office, Constitutional Offices Section, seeks an experienced, licensed attorney to represent statewide officeholders in federal and state courts. The role involves litigating complex constitutional issues, preparing and presenting arguments, and collaborating with a team to develop legal theories. This position focuses on expedited election cases, preliminary injunctions, temporary restraining orders, trials, and oral arguments.
Responsibilities
represent officeholders in federal and state court litigation;
research and develop novel constitutional legal theories;
draft brief writing, motions, and pleadings;
participate in hearings, trials, and oral arguments;
collaborate with colleagues to prepare cases and strategy;
maintain communication with stakeholders and clients.
Qualifications
Licensed to practice law in Ohio pursuant to Section 4705.01 of the Ohio Revised Code;
Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience in brief writing, hearings, trials, and motion practice;
Judicial clerkship experience or strong interest in constitutional litigation in the public sector is encouraged;
Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate strategically.
