PTC Windchill Software Engineer
Position Details:
Role: Senior PTC Windchill Software Engineer – AI-Driven PLM & Enterprise Integration
Location: Menlo Park, CA (Onsite)

Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and customize enterprise-scale PTC Windchill PLM solutions.
Build AI-native and agentic workflows to automate Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
Develop intelligent automation for part creation, part classification, metadata enrichment, Engineering BOM (EBOM) generation, BOM validation, and engineering change management.
Customize Windchill using Java, Windchill APIs, Info*Engine, workflow framework, event listeners, and business rules.
Configure product structures, lifecycle templates, object types, attributes, workflows, access controls, validation logic, and change management processes.
Develop scalable enterprise integrations between Windchill and ERP, MDM, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, and downstream business systems using REST/SOAP APIs and middleware technologies.
Automate Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Notices (ECN), impact analysis, approval routing, and workflow orchestration.
Build reusable frameworks, optimize application performance, and ensure scalability for large enterprise PLM environments supporting complex product portfolios.
Implement secure, governed, and explainable AI solutions with human-in-the-loop approvals and complete auditability.
Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, product management, and enterprise architecture teams to deliver high-quality PLM solutions.
Required Skills:
Strong hands-on experience with PTC Windchill (PDMLink, MPMLink, Change Management, Workflows).
Expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, Windchill APIs, Info*Engine, REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, XML, JSON, and SQL.
Experience customizing Windchill workflows, lifecycle management, object initialization rules (OIR), business rules, and access control.
Strong understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), New Product Introduction (NPI), Engineering Change Management, Product Structures, Engineering BOM (EBOM), Configuration Management, and Part Management.
Experience integrating Windchill with ERP, MDM, MES, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain systems.
Knowledge of AI-enabled workflow automation, Generative AI, AI Agents, or intelligent engineering automation is highly preferred.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, Git, CI/CD, and enterprise software development best practices.
Preferred Industry Experience:
Medical Devices, Consumer Electronics, Semiconductor, Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Industrial Manufacturing, Robotics, or High-Tech Product Development.
