Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized AEC consulting firm, has a full‐time opportunity for an experienced Construction Representative to join our Aviation Midwest group in the state of IL, which includes our office locations in Chicago, Peoria, and Champaign. This role supports aviation and transportation projects statewide, with flexibility for a remote work arrangement for qualified candidates with the right ability and aptitude who can travel to project sites as needed primarily in Illinois.This position can be full‐time, part‐time, or seasonal as preferred. Retirees are encouraged to apply!ResponsibilitiesProviding staff augmentation support for IDOT Aeronautics construction projectsManaging multiple airport‐related construction projects while balancing administrative oversight and field involvementServing as an agency representative by overseeing work performed by other consulting firmsReviewing and evaluating contractor pay estimates, invoices, and supporting documentationEvaluating contract time adjustments and change requestsInterpreting and applying IDOT processes, specifications, and formsResponding to technical and procedural questions from consulting teams using professional judgment and IDOT standardsParticipating in virtual meetings with consultants, IDOT, and project stakeholdersConducting on‐site visits to verify construction progress and compliance with plans and specificationsDocumenting observations and supporting project decision‐makingOther tasks as assignedA valid driver's license and frequent daily travel (approximately 40%) to job sites will be required.QualificationsBachelor's degree or higher in construction management, civil engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university; at least 4 years of relevant construction experience; at least 4 applicable certificationsAssociate's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university; at least 6 years of relevant construction experience; at least 4 applicable certificationsNo degree; at least 8 years of relevant construction experience; at least 4 applicable certificationsDesired QualificationsExperience working with or at IDOT and/or federal agencies such as FAACertifications in IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities, QC/QA, HMA Level I/II, and PCC Level I/II training is a plusExperience with technical construction of pavements, grading, site developmentExperience in construction observation and IDOT documentationASTM standard construction testing procedure experienceExperience with MS Office Suite productsSupremely organizedBenefitsStrong Company CultureRobust Career Advancement, Training, & Growth OpportunitiesEmployee‐Owned FirmFlexible SchedulesDiverse Skillsets, One CompanyImpressive Benefits PackageMead & Hunt proudly offers medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, paid sick leave, parental leave, a 401(K) plan with a generous company match, life and disability insurance, and an employee assistance program.CompensationHourly Rate Range: $45.00 to $58.00 – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as experience, skill set or location.All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply and will receive consideration for employment without regard to protected veteran status, disability, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.Mead & Hunt will not sponsor a visa (H‐1B, etc.) for this position.#J-18808-Ljbffr
