Part Time Phlebotomist / Specimen Collector – Multi-Site Coverage

We’re seeking an experienced, professional, and personable Phlebotomist/Specimen Collector to join our team on a Part Time basis. This position collects a variety of specimen types, including urine, blood, saliva, and molecular samples, across two clinic locations. While hours are not guaranteed each week, assignments will vary based on scheduling needs within the coverage region.SchedulePart Time, every Monday (8:30am - 5:30pm) as neededNon-Benefit EligibleKey ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to a satisfactory standard. Duties include but are not limited to:Phlebotomy Duties:Ensure that all patient paperwork is filled out correctly and all necessary information has been captured at the time of the collection.Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and fingerstick.Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures, observing isolation procedures.Tracks collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection; maintaining daily tallies of collections performed.Performs bleeding-times tests by entering results to the computer, notifying the pathologist of results falling outside normal ranges.Resolves unusual test orders by contacting the physician, pathologist, nursing station, or reference laboratory; referring unresolved orders back to the originator for further clarification; notifying the supervisor of unresolved orders.Update and maintain patient information and records, as necessary, while ensuring patients complete privacy.Specimen Collection Duties:Ensure that all patient paperwork is filled out correctly and all necessary information has been captured at the time of the collectionUpdate and maintain patient information and records, as necessary, while ensuring patients complete privacy, observing HIPAA regulations into laboratory information system.Perform and follow specimen (urine, blood, and saliva) collection protocols for specimen collection.Monitor and maintain supplies and supply records for all clinic needs. Communicating to lab any supply requests in a timely manner.Securely and safely package specimens for pick up by the lab's courier service.Follow general work protocols regarding breaks and cell phone usage during business hours.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.Certified Phlebotomy Technician (required).Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical or high-volume setting.Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (travel between coverage sites required).Skills and AttributesDependable, organized, and detail-oriented.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Professional and compassionate patient care approach.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.Commitment to high-quality, error-free work.This flexible PRN opportunity is ideal for a dependable phlebotomist who enjoys variety, independence, and working within multiple clinical settings.
