Senior Network Services Architect

Overview In this role you will serve as the senior technical authority for FDA-focused enterprise network and communications services, shaping the design and direction of wired/wireless LAN, WAN, and cloud connectivity. You will lead network modernization and multi-cloud integration across on-prem and cloud landing zones, driving high availability and secure, efficient operations. The position emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end service delivery during transitions to managed services. ResponsibilitiesArchitect and lead design/engineering for enterprise Data Network and Communication Services (LAN/WAN/third-party/cloud connectivity)Oversee release management, testing, and deployment during upgradesOptimize connectivity and security between on-premise data centers and cloud landing zones (AWS, Azure, GCP)Own technical roadmap for network modernization and technology refreshProvide senior oversight of network operations, monitoring, patching, and troubleshootingManage capacity planning for current and future requirementsDesign load balancing, DHCP, DNS, and monitoring solutions across environmentsUpdate policies and configurations to reflect evolving standards and FDA policiesSupport Unified Communications, load balancing, eFax, and NTP servicesDirect network monitoring and reporting using tools like SolarWinds, DNAC, CactiLead CI efforts to maintain relevance and performanceMaintain architectural documentation and inventory for data centersSupport audits and data calls related to network attributes and hardware detailsCoordinate with contractors, cloud providers, and other task area leads for end-to-end deliveryMentor and guide Network Engineers and Administrators, supporting incident/problem managementSupport transition planning and cutover activities to Managed Services Key requirementsBachelors degree and 8+ years of progressive network engineering/architecture experience3–5 years in a senior architect or technical lead role on large enterprise environmentsHands-on architecture experience across LAN, WAN, and cloud connectivity in multi-site enterprisesStrong knowledge of connecting on-premise networks to AWS/Azure/GCPExperience with network monitoring and capacity planning tools (e.g., SolarWinds, DNAC, Cacti)Experience managing multi-site networks including load balancing, DHCP, DNS, UC, and security policy configurationExperience with IT infrastructure refresh, upgrade, and lifecycle managementStrong documentation skills for current/target-state diagramsExcellent collaboration and communication across cross-functional teamsU.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Public TrustCCNP or equivalent senior-level network certificationcollaborationcommunicationmentoringLAN/WAN architecture (wired/wireless)SD-WAN and private IP servicessite-to-site VPN, MAN, Trusted Internet Circuit
