Speech-Language Therapist / Pathologist

Job Description:Job Title: Speech Language PathologistLocation: Enfield Public Schools, Enfield, CTJob Type: Full-TimeJob Summary: Enfield Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The SLP will provide comprehensive speech and language services to students, helping them achieve their full potential in communication and academic success.Key Responsibilities:Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify speech, language, and communication disorders.Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs.Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings.Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and services provided.Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of educational strategies.Stay current with best practices and methodologies in speech-language pathology.Qualifications:Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.Valid state licensure/certification.Experience working in a school setting is preferred.Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and professionals.Best Practices and Methodologies:Evidence-Based Practice: Utilize research and evidence-based methods to inform assessment and intervention strategies.Individualized Approach: Tailor therapy plans to meet the unique needs of each student, considering their strengths and challenges.Collaborative Practice: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment.Cultural Competence: Respect and incorporate students' cultural and linguistic backgrounds into therapy.Technology Integration: Use technology and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices to enhance communication outcomes.Ongoing Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay updated with the latest advancements in the field.Application ProcessInterested candidates must submit:A cover letterResumeThree current letters of professional referenceProof of valid CT certificationTranscripts (official transcripts required upon hire)
