Receptionist
Position Summary:*Prior Receptionist experience is preferred*Provide a warm greeting for visitors, family and staff. Answer and screen all incoming calls. To direct incoming phone calls, answer questions from the public, present a favorable impression of our facility.Specific responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following: Answer the phone and gives information or directs the call to the appropriate individual as requested. Operates the front door and greets visitors. Set up the welcome station each morning, then return the supplies to the kitchen and clean the station each evening. Maintains a list (pictures) of residents that wander and prevent them from exiting the front entrance. Notify the appropriate departments when new resident or a returning resident arrives. Enter into the shared drive, information for admissions and discharges. A copy of this information is delivered to the nursing units each Sunday. Inventory clothing of new admissions and send clothing to the laundry. On admission, inventory the resident’s televisions, chairs or other personal property. The serial numbers and model numbers with a description of the item is forwarded to the maintenance department. This is done for existing resident when the family brings any of these items to the facility. Sell lunch tickets to staff or visitors and report the number of tickets sold to dietary. Announce activities for the day each morning, and announce the locking of the front door each evening before leaving. Log flower delivers and have them delivered to the appropriate person or department. Sort the daily mail for each department and residents. Makes copies for departments as requested. Maintain a neat, clean working area. Adheres to the established facilities policies related to infection control and reducing the potential spread of infection. Works cooperatively as part of the health care team. Maintains and promotes relationships with residents, visitors, other staff members, and government regulators by presenting a professional appearance and positive attitude. Understands, complies with, and promotes all rules regarding residents’ rights and confidentiality. Attends mandatory in-service functions. .Understands and follows safety and sanitation rules, practices safety in provision of services, and promptly reports any hazards or violations to a supervisor. Performs additional functions or duties, as assigned by the supervisor.
