Node.js / Java DeveloperLocation: Alpharetta, GA — 3 days onsite requiredDuration: 12 monthsExperience: 6+ yearsPosition Overview:We are looking for a Node.js / Java Developer to join our Client Platforms team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience developing backend APIs and middle-tier services using Node.js, along with solid Java development experience.Important: This role requires approximately 80% Node.js and 20% Java experience. Node.js experience must be focused on backend/API development — this is NOT a frontend development role.You will work on a mobile services platform, designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance APIs that enable seamless integration between applications, databases, and web/mobile systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain backend APIs and middle-tier services using Node.js, TypeScript, Java, and related technologies.Collaborate with PMO, Development, Product Management, Business, Technical Operations, Infrastructure, Networks, and Architecture teams.Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing RESTful APIs and web services.Review architectural diagrams, technical specifications, business requirements, and design documents.Work with existing technologies including Java, C++, Linux/Unix, open-source platforms, and SOA, while supporting next-generation solutions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business and technical requirements.Develop a strong understanding of financial products, services, processes, and organizational structures.Mentor and provide technical guidance to other software developers.Participate in continuous integration, deployment, testing, and production support activities.Required Qualifications6+ years of software development experience.Strong hands-on experience with Node.js for backend/API development.Approximately 80% Node.js / 20% Java experience.Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, code structure, CI/CD, and deployment practices.Hands-on experience with:Node.jsTypeScriptCore JavaSpring Framework / Spring BootSpring IntegrationKafkaActiveMQExperience developing REST APIs / Web Services using REST, SOAP, JSON, and related technologies.Experience with Java server technologies such as J2EE and Servlets.Experience with Tomcat and Maven.Experience with at least one database such as Oracle, DB2, Sybase, or similar.Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software development methodologies.Strong knowledge of API design principles, scalability, extensibility, and portability.PreferredExperience working in financial services or banking environments.Experience with Linux/Unix environments.Experience working with enterprise-scale applications and integration platforms.Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.Key Requirement: Candidates should be primarily backend Node.js/API developers, with approximately 20% Java experience. Frontend-focused Node.js developers will not be a fit.
