Senior Mechanical Engineer
Description:As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing revolutionary robotic systems designed to operate safely alongside humans. You will bridge the gap between initial concept and mass-production hardware, solving ambiguous problems in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.Key ResponsibilitiesFull Lifecycle Ownership: Execute product designs from initial concept through to production, including specification, design, prototyping, validation, and testing.Detailed Design: Act as the primary owner of the detailed mechanical design and overall performance of robotic systems.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality teams, and external vendors to ensure a seamless product launch.Documentation & Testing: Author functional specifications, design verification plans (DVP), and comprehensive functional test procedures.Engineering Excellence: Model best practices in predictive engineering analysis and maintain "cradle-to-grave" ownership of hardware solutions.Adaptability: Design holistic hardware solutions for complex problems with fluid or ambiguous requirements.Basic QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.Technical Proficiency: Advanced CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred) with a deep understanding of part design and complex assembly management.Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading the mechanical design of complex electro-mechanical systems.Prototyping: Hands-on experience building proof-of-concept models and functional prototypes.Analytical Skills: Strong grasp of mechanical engineering principles, theories, and concepts applied to real-world product design.Communication: Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to leadership and author high-quality technical documentation.Agility: Experience working within an agile, fast-paced development environment.Preferred QualificationsAdvanced Education: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Scaling Experience: Proven track record of launching complex mechanical products at high volume.Simulation & Analysis: Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using tools like ANSYS or SolidWorks Simulation.Manufacturing Expertise: Experience designing and debugging tooled components, including:Injection moldingSheet metal fabricationCastingInterdisciplinary Collaboration: Strong history of working closely with Electrical and Controls engineers.Standards & Systems: * Proficiency in ANSI Y-14.5 (GD&T) standards.Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).Project Management: Experience leading technical projects and managing timelines/deliverables.
