This position is located onsite in Hanover, MD.Job DescriptionThe Building Engineer is responsible for overseeing the daily operation, maintenance, and reliability of all building systems at the corporate headquarters. This role serves as the technical lead for facilities operations, ensuring a safe, efficient, and well‐maintained environment that supports executive leadership, staff, and visitors. The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a proactive, service‐oriented mindset.ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of all HQ building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life‐safety systemsServe as the primary technical point of contact for headquarters facilities operationsPerform advanced troubleshooting and resolve complex building system issuesDevelop, execute, and oversee preventative maintenance schedules and programsConduct regular inspections and walkthroughs to ensure building integrity, safety, and appearanceCoordinate and manage vendors, contractors, and service providers for repairs, inspections, and capital projectsSupport executive offices, conference spaces, and high‐profile meetings with priority service and minimal disruptionMaintain detailed maintenance logs, work orders, compliance records, and reportsEnsure compliance with all local codes, safety regulations, and corporate standardsSupport sustainability, energy efficiency, and cost‐control initiativesProvide on‐call or after‐hours support as required for HQ operationsMentor and guide junior building engineers or facilities staff, if applicableRequired Qualifications5+ years of experience as a Building Engineer or Facilities Engineer, with senior‐level responsibilitiesStrong expertise in HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and mechanical operationsDemonstrated experience supporting corporate offices or headquarters environmentsAbility to lead facilities operations independently and make sound technical decisionsExcellent troubleshooting, problem‐solving, and organizational skillsStrong communication skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with executives and staffAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentationFamiliarity with building management systems (BMS) and preventative maintenance programsHVAC, EPA Universal, electrical, or facilities‐related certificationsExperience working in Class A office buildings or executive‐level environmentsFamiliarity with CMMS systems and facilities documentation standardsExperience leading vendor relationships and small project execution
