QUALIFICATIONS Education: · Minimum Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance Experience: · Minimum two (2) years recent experience as a Controller with responsibility for accounts, budgeting and cost accounting. · Preferred experience working with grants and 501(c)3 nonprofits. General Requirements: · Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems, well-developed financial analysis capabilities and demonstrated ability to manage computer operations and applications, including QuickBooks and Excel. · Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills. · Sound administrative skills. · Strong analytical and reasoning abilities. · Superior numeric skills. · High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities. · Ability to establish credibility and be decisive while recognizing and supporting the agency’s preferences and priorities. · Must clear West Virginia Department of Human Services background check. DUTIES AND REPSONSIBILITIES 1. Assists in the development and tracking of the budget, including the tracking of different grant monies and the formation of indirect cost rates for service. 2. Using QuickBooks accounting software (and other tools as needed), performs the following tasks: a. Maintains a ledger of billings and requests for funds b. Tracks payments, including the filing of receipts c. Processes payroll d. Prepares monthly financial statements for the Board 3. Provides Executive Director, Program Directors and Board of Directors with related information required by them to carry out their assigned responsibilities. 4. Completes quarterly reports and annual reports, including Worker’s Compensation, IRS Forms 941, W-2, W-3, Medicaid cost reports, etc.1. Prepares deposits for taxes at both the federal and state level. 2. Working with In-Home Care Staff and the Director, prepares monthly invoices for reimbursable services. Monitors receipt of payments for those services. 3. Keeps the Executive Director informed and provides advice on all financial matters. 4. Develops and presents to the Executive Director matters requiring his or her decision. 5. Prepares financial statements and reports to funding sources as required. 6. Other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to maintain physical condition and stamina appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time, driving or riding in a car, bus or van and interacting with clients at the appropriate eye level or other duties as assigned. The usual requirements in an office environment may require lifting boxes of supplies, equipment and occasional adjustments of office furniture. Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting and/or moving up to 25lbs. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS · Ability to travel for activities such as meetings, classes, and workshops in and out of the service area.
