We value our professional and caring employees who are dedicated to improving people’s lives and we want YOU to join our team!What you will be doing: Responsible for duties involving repairs and maintenance of structures, electrical systems, plumbing, washers and dryers, heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems in compliance with government and management directives.Essential FunctionsPerform maintenance and repair of structures, electrical systems, heating, plumbing, air conditioning and drainage systemsRepair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, outlets, fuses as directedPerform minor construction and repair of structural woodworkPerform repair or replacement of windows, doors, locks, plumbing, fixtures, washers, and sealsPrepare surfaces for finishing and painting, as directedSupervise students assigned to facility maintenancePerform preventive maintenance checks of buildings and equipmentPerform routine scheduled checks of heating and air conditioning systemDemonstrate alignment with and a clear understanding of the mission of Job CorpsOccasionally requires physical exertion to manually life, move, pull, push, or carry materials or objectsOccasionally requires reaching, bending, stooping, or standingRequires prolonged sittingRequires the ability to work in noisy and crowded environmentsOccasionally requires working outdoors to participate with academic or program related activitiesMaintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environmentSupport, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance PolicyParticipate in student career success standards programs and activitiesPromote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventionsMaintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalency requiredTechnical training and general knowledge of maintenance/repair and three years related experienceExperience working with youth, and excellent written and verbal communication skills also requiredUnless waived by management, valid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordManagement & Training Corporation (MTC) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
