(ZGIM), a part of Zurich North America, is seeking an Investment Accounting & Reporting Director to join the Investment Administration and Accounting (IAA) team. We safeguard the integrity of investment data, ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements, and deliver insights that shape strategic portfolio and business decisions. Through this critical work, our team plays a central role in strengthening the reliability and credibility of investment information enterprise wide. As a trusted partner to Investment Management, Finance, and Operations, we are committed to delivering reliable, transparent, and high-quality investment information that supports effective decision making across the company.Responsibilities:Driving engagement, motivation, and accountability across the teamServing as the senior escalation point for complex accounting, valuation, system, and reporting issues, performing expert level review, identifying root causes, and driving corrective actionsProviding authoritative interpretation of IFRS, US Statutory (NAIC), US GAAP, and US Tax requirements for new transactions, products, strategies, process changes, and system enhancementsEnsuring complete and accurate investment subledger processing, including reconciliations, chart of accounts maintenance, valuation logic, reporting principles, and service-level adherenceOverseeing timely, accurate delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual investment accounting results across IFRS, US Statutory (NAIC), US GAAP, and TaxEnsuring full compliance with regulatory standardsOwning and continuously strengthening the investment accounting governance and internal control framework, including policy adherence, risk mitigation, and audit readinessRepresenting the function with internal and external auditors, providing subject matter expertise and ensuring consistent, accurate, and well controlled reportingBuilding strong, productive relationships with senior leaders across Investment Management, Finance, Operations, Risk, and Group functionsInfluencing decisions by providing expert insights and recommendations on investment related accounting impacts for new products, transactions, investment strategies, and system changesChampioning simplification, standardization, and automation efforts across accounting and reporting processes, driving operational excellence and scalabilitySupporting the development and enhancement of tools, workflows, and reporting solutions using technologies such as Python, AI agents, Power BI, and Power AutomateActing as a promoter, ambassador, power user, trainer, or process/product owner within relevant communities, chapters, or squadsEnsuring high quality reporting output for internal leadership, Group reporting teams, regulators, and auditorsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Investment Accounting or Finance and 7+ years of experience OR High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 9+ years of experience in investment Accounting or FinanceAND Extensive expertise in applying IFRS, US Statutory (NAIC), and US Tax accounting principles to investment accountingPreferred Qualifications:Advanced knowledge of investment instruments, including fixed income, structured products, private debt, and alternative assetsAdvanced data analytics expertise. Skilled in using tools such as Excel, business intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and other analytics solutions to support informed decision-making and drive business valueStrong written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced influencing and stakeholder management skillsProactive, solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to anticipate issues, identify opportunities, recommend improvements, and drive operational efficiencyAbility to lead and operate independently while balancing multiple strategic priorities in a fast paced, deadline-driven environmentDemonstrated expertise in driving transformation, automation, and operational excellence initiatives within investment accounting and reporting functionsExcellent problem solving and decision-making capabilitiesStrong motivation to stay current with emerging technologiesProfessional accounting designation (CPA/CA/ACCA or equivalent)CFA designation is an assetProficiency with SAP, BW, and/or other investment subledger platformsProven people's leadership experience, including setting team objectives, running performance management cycles, developing talent, planning workforce needs, and fostering an inclusive, high performing team cultureYour pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to applyyour unique background matters to us. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed salary range for this position is $144,000 - $235,875, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
