Position Level: Non-exemptReports To: Shift SupervisorPosition Summary: A Web Press Operator repairs, runs and operates a T230 and T240 Web Press. The operator conducts quality checks and performs other tasks whenever needed as they work with one or more machines from time to time depending on workload and date of delivery. As a Web Press Operator, it is essential to produce high-quality, detailed work based on established guidelines and procedures - precision is a must with consistent output.Essential Job Functions (include but are not limited to):Meet with supervisor daily for schedule, job progress, tasksRead job tickets and properly document both counts of product and times that job was produced into the shop floor data systemMachine set up and operationSet and monitor machine calipers to ensure quality of finished productChange and adjust trimmer knivesInspect working parts and be able to recognize those that need replacementMaintain print registration, color matching, ink, varnishes, and coatingsConstantly monitor quality of finished productBe responsible for general maintenance and lubrication of machineAssist with housekeeping in the web press areaBe thoroughly familiar with all areas of job finishing sheetFollow all required safety procedures such as: PPE's, Ergonomics, Chemical Hazards, etc. Performs job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employeesMaintain production charts and recordsTrain new employeesGive direction to machine crew through production and downtimeProvide leadership as requiredProvide input to supervisor for evaluationsFollows all company policies and proceduresComplete and demonstrate a full understanding of ongoing training concepts attendanceRequirementsEducation/Skills/Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Minimum of 2 years' experience with Web Press equipment preferredExperience with calipers, micrometers, and color spectrometers preferredExcellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and meets deadlinesGood interpersonal and customer contact skillsGood written/verbal communication
