As proud members of the Preservation Society of Charleston and the Historic Charleston Foundation, our work has been honored with multiple Carolopolis Awards for excellence in historic preservation.Role DescriptionWe are hiring for two supervisory positons - determination will be based on experience.Project ManagerThis position oversees and manages all aspects of the construction process from foundation to finish. You must be fluent in the language of construction and able to translate timelines, budgets and processes for clients and other stakeholders with confidence and ease. A successful candidate needs to be an ambassador for our brand. He or she will have a solid track record using multiple technology platforms to manage and record project progress. The main categories of responsibility will include tracking and updating scope, schedule, budget, contracts/subcontracts and selections. The Project Manager will be the point of contact and communication with the client.Construction ManagerThe Construction Manager provides support to the Project Manager by coordinating project activities related to all projects. The position’s main duties are to ensure the continuity and efficiency of each project from start to finish through clear communication with all parties involved. The Construction Manager handles multiple projects within a fast-paced environment and is subject to constant changes and challenges. The main categories of responsibility will include layouts, scheduling, daily job logs/communication and ensuring design accuracy and quality control. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and able to manage multiple projects at once in the absence of day-to-day guidance.QualificationsStrong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocationProficiency in construction practices, compliance regulations, and safety requirementsAbility to effectively communicate with clients, subcontractors, and team membersProblem-solving skills for addressing on-site challenges and maintaining project timelinesExperience in historic preservation or renovation projects is a plusFamiliarity with building inspection and permits processesAttention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanshipValid driver's license and reliable transportation requiredAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
