Classification TitleProgram Director, Student AffairsClassification Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Job DescriptionThe Marketing Department in the Warrington College of Business (WCB) at the University of Florida is seeking to hire a Program Director, Student Affairs for the Master of Science in Marketing (MSMAR) program.The Program Director, Student Affairs for the Master of Science in Marketing (MSMAR) program reports to the Faculty Director. His/her primary job duties include coordinating the admissions process, recruiting, student advising, student engagement, and career readiness. The incumbent has a thorough understanding of the institutional policies and procedures governing a substantial number of offices on campus.AdmissionsCoordinates with admissions personnel who manage application completionMakes admissions, decisions, sends admission decision letters, and updates SalesForce and UF admission portalRequests I-20 for international applicantsRecommends students for scholarshipsInterviews applicants in person and via Zoom RECRUITMENTAdvises prospective students regarding program options, admission requirements, and deadlines via information sessionsCollaborates with the faculty director to develop annual enrollment goals and recruitment strategyMaintains all program websites including admissions and academic requirementsEstablishes and maintains strategic relationships with staff, faculty, advisors, and student organizations throughout UF campus to promote the programs to specific majors.Presents to advisors, classes, on-campus student clubs, organizations, and honor societiesAttends campus events to promote programsOther duties may include recruiting and program promotion at UF or other state schools, researching projects related to marketing and graduate business programs, alumni relations, student events, and other special projectsCoordinates with marketing and recruitment personnel on marketing campaignsUpdates email campaigns for recruitment and admission in SalesForce STUDENT ADVISING The MSMAR program is fast-paced, and there is significant interaction with students, as well as constant student trackingHe/she is responsible for the tasks below: Sends new student information, including registration and orientation detailsMeets with all students to develop academic timelines and advise them on program requirements, policies, and deadlinesPlans and coordinates orientation for MSMAR students with the Faculty Director. This entails organizing the venue, agenda, and speakersPrepares orientation academic content (including videos) for on-campus and online studentsMaintains students’ academic files, including change of degree forms and graduate credit transfers forms in GIMS (Graduate Management Information System)Advises all students (on-campus and online) on program requirements, policies, and deadlinesRegisters students appropriately for coursesCommunicates with undergraduate advisors regarding combination degree student progressProcesses all forms pertaining to combination and dual degree studentsConducts degree audits for graduating studentsHandles curricular practical training (CPT) and optional practical training (OPT) paperwork for international students who pursue off-campus internships or temporary employmentPrepares and monitors petitions to the graduate school as neededCoordinates course schedules with Graduate enrollment personnelManages program e-Learning/Canvas sites and announcementsSTUDENT ENGAGEMENT AND CAREER READINESSPrepare and deliver a set of events explaining career opportunities available in marketing and how the MSMAR program curriculum enhances career opportunities for both current and future studentsCollaborate with the Faculty Director to put on tailored events and workshops for current and prospective MSMAR studentsCollaborate with the Faculty Director to create and develop appropriate experiential learning activities, which may include experiential learning courses and/or business visits. This may include coordinating the logistics to facilitate these activitiesActively supports/provides guidance to the MSMAR student ambassadorsSupervises recruitment, application process, and new and continued member trainingWorks with ambassadors to identify opportunities for professional development and peer engagementLiaison between student ambassadors and advising team, program directorsCoordinates and/or assists with special events, such as student socials, speaker events, networking events, etcCollaborates with the MIB and MSM advising team in the creation and coordination of events, workshops, and programs that support the advising process as neededManages fiscal accounts associated with the MSMAR program.Coordinates closely with the Business Career Services and Corporate Relations Office to aid in placement opportunities.Maintains relationships with firms that hire MSMAR students for internships and full-time placement.Supervises the GEB6941 Internship course for MSMAR students.Maintains relationships with program alumni for the purposes of mentoring current studentsObtains feedback from firms that hire from the program about the performance of students during internships and full-time employmentCreates and administers exit interview surveys with graduating students and recent graduatesProvides information from these surveys to the Faculty Director about the effectiveness of the current curriculum in providing students with relevant skills to be successful in their careersNORMAL WORK SCHEDULEMonday through Friday, 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m.Occasional weekend or evening duties required for recruitment events, orientation, and extracurricular student activities (2-3 per semester)Travel will be required for participation in the MSMAR Experiential Learning course tripExpected Salary$70,000 -$80,000 annually, commensurate with experience.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.ExperiencePreferred Qualifications: Experience in higher education student advisingSkills Outstanding written and oral communication skills Excellent critical thinking skills Strong organizational skills Strong interpersonal skills Strong intercultural skillsAbilities Ability to solve problems independently Ability to multi-task Ability to balance several projects at one timeOther Qualifications Attention to detail Strong work ethic ProactiveSpecial Instructions To ApplicantsIn order to be considered, you must upload your cover letter, resume, and 3 recommendation letters.Application must be submitted by 11:55 p.m. (ET) of the posting end date.Health Assessment Required: No
