Scheduled Outage CoordinatorDuration: Until March 26th 2027 (High possibility of extension)Location: Jackson, MI (Onsite) Job Summary:The Scheduled Outage Coordinator Support (Contractor) plays a key role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of Consumers Energy’s High Voltage Distribution (HVD), Low Voltage Distribution (LVD), and Metropolitan Electric Systems. This position works cross-functionally with multiple teams to support the execution of the reliability project work plan.As part of the Grid Management Scheduled Outage team, the selected candidate will primarily support outage coordination processes related to maintenance and construction activities on electric distribution systems. The role also provides operational support within electric control and dispatch centers, particularly during storm restoration and emergency events. Key Responsibilities:Support the coordination and scheduling of planned outages for HVD and LVD systems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, field crews, and planning groups.Assist in ensuring safe switching and tagging procedures are followed.Provide support for maintenance and construction-related outage activities.Assist control and dispatch center operations during storm restoration and emergency conditions.Track, monitor, and report outage-related activities and metrics.Manage multiple work requests while adapting to changing priorities. Required (Mandatory) Skills:Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.Basic understanding of Power BI or similar reporting/analytics tools.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work effectively with field personnel and operations teams. Preferred Qualifications:1–2 years of experience in electric utility operations, outage coordination, dispatch support, work planning, or a related role.Basic understanding of planned outage processes within an electric utility environment.Experience with operational systems such as OMS/ADMS, iTOA, or SAP.Familiarity with electric utility infrastructure (feeders, substations, switches, circuits).Experience supporting storm operations or emergency response activities.Prior experience in a Gas & Electric utility control room environment.Knowledge of switching and tagging procedures. Work Environment:May require shift work, including extended hours during storm restoration or emergency situations.Fast-paced, team-oriented operational environment.
