Land Development SurveyingLocation: Arden, NCDepartment: SurveyingReports To: Project Manager / Sr. Project ManagerFLSA Status: Non-ExemptAbout The RoleFEI is seeking a Surveying Technician to support land development surveying projects through accurate drafting, strong coordination with survey project managers, and timely production of high-quality deliverables. This is an office-based technical role focused on CAD production and survey mapping.This position is ideal for a technician with prior land surveying experience who enjoys detail-oriented work and contributing to successful project delivery.Key Responsibilities Prepare surveying maps and exhibits using Carlson and AutoCAD, including:Plot plansTopographic surveysALTA/NSPS surveysBoundary surveysAs-built surveysFinal platsWork closely with Survey Project Managers to produce accurate deliverables within established budgets and schedulesSubmit plats and survey maps to governmental agencies for review and approvalMaintain high standards of quality and adhere to FEI policies and proceduresCollaborate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environmentRequired QualificationsHigh school diplomaMinimum of 1 year of relevant land surveying experienceProficiency with Carlson and AutoCADStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesPreferred QualificationsCAD certificationsAssociate’s degree in Geomatics or related fieldExperience with Ajera expense and timesheet entry or similar systemsWork Environment & ScheduleOffice-based positionMon–Thu: 7:30am–5:30pm | Fri: 7:30am–11:30amPerformance MetricsUtilizationEfficiencyResponsibilityCommunicationWork ethicWhy FEIRelationship-driven culture focused on accountability and integrityStable workload with predictable schedulingOpportunity to work on a wide variety of land development projectsSupportive team environment with room for growth🚫 Recruiter NoticeDirect applicants only.
