Work Arrangement: Monday to Friday (weekend as needed)
Shift: 3-11PM
Job Summary
The Production Operator for tablets and capsules is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining machinery and equipment within a production environment. This role encompasses managing the manufacturing process of pharmaceutical products, with a primary focus on ensuring efficient and high-quality production that adheres to established specifications and standards. Key responsibilities include conducting routine quality checks, following standard procedures and safety protocols, documenting production activities, and collaborating with the team to address issues and enhance production processes.
Responsibilities
Configure, operate, and maintain equipment used for tablet and capsule production, including tablet presses, encapsulation machines, and related machinery.
Ensure that products adhere to quality standards and specifications by conducting routine checks and tests on samples. This includes measuring tablet hardness, verifying capsule fill weight, and checking ingredient consistency.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maintain regulatory compliance throughout the production process.
Identify and address any issues or malfunctions that arise during production to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operation.
Maintain comprehensive records of production activities, including batch records, maintenance logs, and quality control results, to ensure traceability and compliance with regulatory standards.
Uphold a clean and safe work environment by adhering to hygiene practices and safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure a secure workplace.
Comply with company requirements for employee safety, product quality, and productivity.
Calibrate machinery before production, operate equipment according to batch instructions, and set up machinery for operation.
Regularly inspect and clean machines, monitor and control machine performance and settings, and conduct periodic tests of machine performance and capacity.
Inspect machinery using appropriate tools, feed raw materials into machines, and troubleshoot and document any issues or malfunctions that occur.
Review machine outputs, identify any problems, and maintain an updated database of machine information, defective units, and final products.
Log all activities performed, complete Batch Production Records accurately and timely, and collect representative samples of in-process and finished products according to SOPs.
Follow hygienic practices to avoid product contamination and submit regular performance reports.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED: Basic requirement for most production roles.
1+ years of relevant fields might include pharmaceuticals, chemistry, or manufacturing technology. This can be an asset but is not always required.
Previous experience in a similar role or industry can be very valuable. Familiarity with pharmaceutical or nutraceutical manufacturing is particularly relevant.
Specific experience with the machinery and processes used to produce tablets and capsules can be highly beneficial.
Understanding how to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot production equipment for tablets and capsules.
Knowledge of GMP standards is crucial in ensuring product quality and compliance.
Ability to perform routine checks and ensure the products meet required specifications.
Ability to follow safety procedures to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
Understanding of relevant regulations and standards, such as those set by the FDA or other regulatory bodies.
Precision in monitoring and operating machinery to ensure high-quality production.
Ability to identify issues and resolve them efficiently.
Effective communication with team members and supervisors is important for a smooth operation.
This includes standing for long periods, lifting weights, and operating machinery.
