Quality Control Chemist (Analytical Chemist)Book for more info! https://talentassistant.actalentservices.com/assistant/bookings/BfUTMTxlThe Analytical Chemist plays a key role in the Quality Control (QC) Analytical Laboratory by supporting daily laboratory operations and quality-related activities. This position ensures that raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products meet established specifications to support Quality, Production, and Research & Development (R&D) functions. The role involves routine analytical testing, meticulous documentation, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced cosmetics manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine laboratory testing and analysis to support Quality Control, Production, and Research & Development activities.Prepare samples and reagents required for analytical testing in accordance with established procedures.Test in-process materials to verify that physical characteristics meet specifications during manufacturing.Analyze finished products for preservative and active ingredient content to ensure compliance with specifications.Conduct testing of raw materials and review accompanying documentation for compliance with quality standards.Document and release raw materials for use in production once they meet all specified requirements.Test stability samples and promptly communicate any out-of-specification (OOS) results to supervision.Review OOS results with a Chemist and/or Supervisor and assist in determining appropriate next steps.Approve and release batches that meet all quality specifications and documentation requirements.Complete non-conformance reports for out-of-specification or non-compliant products in a clear and timely manner.Maintain accurate, clear, and compliant laboratory documentation in alignment with Good Documentation Practices.Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment, including proper handling of chemicals and equipment.Assist in investigations related to product quality or analytical issues as needed.Support method validations and method transfers to ensure robust and reliable analytical procedures.Participate in special projects as assigned, contributing analytical expertise and laboratory support.Perform client-specific analytical methods as required by project or product needs.Support the Supervisor in implementing quality initiatives and directives within the QC laboratory.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Chemistry or a related scientific field.Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).1 to 3 years of experience in a cosmetics or related industry preferred.Strong analytical chemistry skills, including experience with wet chemistry techniques.Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation such as HPLC and/or FT-IR preferred.Familiarity with UV-Vis and other common laboratory analytical techniques.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills in a laboratory setting.Ability to follow written procedures and test methods accurately and consistently.Awareness of data integrity principles and sound documentation practices.Effective communication and teamwork skills when working with cross-functional teams.Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced laboratory environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a Quality Control laboratory within the cosmetics or a closely related industry.Demonstrated ability to perform client-specific analytical methods and adapt to new methodologies.Experience participating in method validations, method transfers, and laboratory investigations.Proven ability to support quality initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.Interest in career growth, with opportunities for advancement into chemist roles.Comfort working with a variety of analytical instruments and laboratory software.Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a Quality Control laboratory within a large, global cosmetics manufacturing organization. The role follows a Monday through Friday schedule, typically from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The laboratory environment is fast-paced, organized, and safety-focused, with a strong emphasis on Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Documentation Practices, and Good Laboratory Practices. You will work with analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, FT-IR, UV-Vis, and standard wet chemistry equipment while collaborating closely with Quality, Production, and R&D teams.
