For over 20 years LER has been working with customers across North America to meet their engineering resource challenges.We have a position for an experienced engineer with hands-on knowledge of telematics software and UDS and/or J1939 communication.Job Location: Must be able to work on-site in Columbus, IndianaWhat you will be doing: Support 7 step problem solving/ FIRG sessionsCustom Calibration development related to connectivity products and featuresSupport field issue resolution and field integration of connectivity modules. Record and analyze generated data including J1939, UDS CAN traces to determine and solve the issuesCreate and revise ESW (Engineering Standard Work) documents for product connectivityFMEA creation and review for system functions, processes and features. Lead debug sessions with suppliersWork closely with cross functional groups ensure end to end flow and compliance to business processes for product connectivity. Interact with internal and external customers to identify customer requirementsSupport service, manufacturing and application engineering group. Analyze industry, supplier and customer product connectivity requirements relative to our customer's requirementsPerform DCR verification post implementationSubmit DCR's to document software issues discovered in the field/ bench testsPrepare presentation material for design reviews. Develop and execute test scripts to test telematics features. Troubleshoot and debug and resolve ECM software and calibration issues. Attending regular team meeting and communicating with peers about project updates. 25% of this role is software development. Two or more years of hands-on experience in the IoT or Telematics software areaFundamental understanding of the internal combustion engines and aftertreatment systemsDiagnostic Interfaces and technologies such as UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services) and/or J1939 is requiredCAN (Controller Area Network) datalinks and network topologiesElectronic control modules and related microcontroller architecturesAbility to write simple script for troubleshooting and data analysisEmbedded C/C++ Software experience is requiredMotivatedCritical thinkerGood communicator - written and verbalGreat collaborator
