This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data management, GIS systems, and who enjoys solving technical challenges. If you are looking to grow your career in data management and the world of underground infrastructure, this may be for you!Our Data Technicians support Duke’s data operations by performing data processing, quality assurance, data management, and geospatial tasks that ensure accurate, reliable, and well-governed data across the organization and to our clients. This role contributes to data quality, workflow efficiency, and continuous improvement by executing standardized processes, supporting automation and analytics initiatives, and collaborating with regional and enterprise teams to meet business needs.This is an onsite position, not remote or hybrid.You will: Perform data managment and quality assurance to maintain accurate and reliable operational recordsComplete geospatial data processing and mapping tasks using GIS tools and related systemsPrepare, clean, and organize datasets for reportingSupport data governance standards, documentation requirements, and audit processesAssist in developing and maintaining automated workflows and data pipelinesIdentify inconsistencies, trends, or process gaps and collaborate on corrective actionsPartner with regional and enterprise teams to support reporting and operational initiativesContribute to ongoing efforts that enhance data quality and workflow efficiencyPerform other duties as assignedApply now if you:Have a bachelor's degree in data science, information systems, computer science, GIS, or a related field preferred; education, training, and experience will be considered.Have at least 2 years of experience in hands-on data management and GIS systemsHave working knowledge of quality assurance principlesHave strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including common data tools and platforms (e.g., Excel, Access, SQL, databases, and related systems)Are familiar with geospatial data conceptsHave strong organizational and problem-solving skillsWill follow established standards while adapting to evolving processes and technologiesHave effective written and verbal communication skillsAre able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentHave attention to detail with commitment to data accuracy and consistencyWhy Duke's?We offer a safety-focused team environmentMedical, dental, and vision insurance options with HSA and FSA plans availableCompany-paid basic life, AD&D, and disability Insurance; supplemental options available for purchaseCompany-paid holidays and paid time off (PTO)Safe Harbor 401K Retirement Savings Plan with up to 4% company match and immediate vesting in company match once eligibleEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Employee Recognition and Rewards ProgramCareer advancement opportunities with access to online learningEmployee discounts programThe pay range for this position is $24.00/hr to $27.00/hr, depending on experience.
