Medical Scribe / Ophthalmic Technician Description:
Retina Northwest Ophthalmic Medical Scribe /Ophthalmic Technician is a Full-Time position and is responsible for working alongside our physicians utilizing clinical knowledge to enter patient information into an electronic health record (Nextech) and transcribe physician’s medical decision-making in real time and will assist in the care, treatment, and education of ophthalmology patients. Medical Scribes regularly travel to and from all RNW clinic locations. RNW Medical Scribes are Full-Time and cross train as Ophthalmic Technicians to learn the direct patient care functions of rooming patients, obtaining medical history, prepping for injections, assisting with laser treatments, and performing OCT testing.
Education – High school diploma or equivalent required. (OSC) Ophthalmic Scribe Certification preferred.
Experience – Six months Scribe experience in a medical or hospital setting required, knowledge of ophthalmic terminology a plus, EHR templating, Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, sound decision making abilities, excellent team player, detail oriented, strong computer skills, excel in time management and multi-tasking; proficient and accurate keyboarding skills of 65 wpm. Successful candidates will possess both a calm demeanor and a positive attitude.
