Logistics Specialist (Pasadena, TX)

Job Title: Logistics Specialist  Location: Pasadena, TX Compensation: $65K - $82K (with some flexibility for the right person) We are partnering with our client to find a Logistics Specialist who will be responsible for coordinating activities within their spent solvent sales business, production posting, and indirect buying for the logistics department at the Pasadena site.The Specialist plays a key role in ensuring accurate inventory records, timely material movement, regulatory compliance, and efficient support of manufacturing operations.This role is in Pasadena, TX and reports to the Logistics and Supply Chain Manager.Responsibilities: Actively participate in the site safety program and support ongoing initiatives to promote a safe, organized work environment.Manage the spent solvent sales business, including customer relationship management, ensuring satisfaction with product quality and on-time delivery.Coordinate solvent truckloads based on product availability and customer demand, ensuring sales commitments are executed within narrow timeframes due to limited on-site storage capacity.Manage logistics for solvent deliveries to customer designated destinations, ensuring efficient transportation planning and recovery of associated costs.Negotiate discounted pricing for non-standard materials, using margin-based metrics to maximize overall profitability.Develop and apply pricing formulas and discount structures based on a solid understanding of solvent market conditions and trends.Collaborate with cross-functional plant teams (Operations, Engineering, Sales, and Supply Chain) to optimize product mix and maximize revenue and margin.Complete production postings for solvent, catalyst, and components businesses, coordinating closely with Engineering and Operations to ensure accuracy and data integrity.Assist with monthly end of month inventory reconciliation and financial closing activities.Manage Ariba requisitions and purchase orders in alignment with logistics department requirements and budget controls.Assist with receiving and shipping activities as needed to support site operations.Requirements:High School diploma or equivalent3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing facility.Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office.Physical Requirements and EnvironmentAbility to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materialsAbility to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materialsAbility to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respiratorPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business, supply chainExperience working with minimal supervision, independent decision-making,  in a work environment with short notice changes in direction and priorities. Experience working a flexible schedule as workload is variable; often with work outside of normal workday hours.Experience using initiative, to drive results, and solve problems by identifying and enrolling appropriate resources
