Fleet Manager

Position SummaryThe Fleet Manager owns the performance, cost, and compliance of the company's fleet across all regions. This role is responsible for maximizing fleet uptime, reducing total cost of ownership, and ensuring all equipment meets safety and regulatory standards. The Fleet Manager drives standard processes, vendor performance, and system adoption to ensure the right assets are in place to support safe, reliable, and efficient field operations.Core Duties / Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain appropriate processes and procedures for fleet maintenance and repairs, tracking of trucks in and out of service, fleet rotation, fleet replacement, etc.Coordinate all equipment acquisitions and divestmentsCoordinate fleet based on needs of the areas/regionsEnsure compliance with safety and other regulatory agenciesResponsible for inventory management of equipment and fleet for all regionsPerform regular field support duties, onsite field visits, due diligence, and auditsManage all vehicle specifications within compliance regulationsMaintain and approve local shop/vendor for repairs and maintenanceManagement of the fleet resource planning and optimizationOptimization of Fleetio within company locations, develop, implement new processes and procedures as necessary to ensure complianceAssist with budgets and reporting on fleet maintenance costsPerform other duties as assignedIdentify underutilized assets and execute redeployment, or replacement plans based on cost and reliability data from vendors/Fleetio.Lead fleet resource planning by aligning equipment availability with regional delivery and service needs, especially during peak demand periods.Position QualificationsExperience/EducationRequired Education: Bachelors/undergraduate degree preferred in business, logistics, finance, or another relevant fieldRequired Work Experience:3-5 years of relevant work experience preferredExperience in fleet management, maintenance or logistics preferredRequired Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesMicrosoft Applications: Advanced functionality in Word, Excel and OutlookAdditional Technology: Good communication skills and computer literacyTravel: Moderate travel required to maintain field supportCommunication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills requiredAdditional Requirements:Ability to maintain stability under pressure and be flexible and willing to modify plans and behavior when necessaryEffectively collaborate with leadership and employees to establish goals andstandards* Ability to always work with respect and cooperation with fellow employees andcustomers.* Maintain professionalism, integrity, security, image and confidentiality ofinformation and records as required by the position.Attend all training and/or in-services.Complete all PERC and other online training in a timely manner.Strong working knowledge of commercial fleet operations, maintenance practices, and total cost of ownership in a multi-location environmentDemonstrated ability to manage and improve fleet performance using data, includinguptime, maintenance cost, and asset utilization* Experience managing vendor relationships, including negotiating pricing, setting expectations, and holding vendors accountable for performance* Commitment to safety and compliance, with the ability to reinforce standards andpartner with HSE on continuous improvement* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel capability and ability to work within fleet management systems such as FleetioPhysical Working Requirements:The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
