Cost Accounting Manager - Manufacturing CompanyA growing global manufacturing company in Orange County is seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to join its finance team during a period of significant growth. This role partners closely with finance and operations leadership and is responsible for managing cost accounting activities while supporting project-based financial reporting and analysis in a dynamic manufacturing environment.This is a hands‐on role ideal for someone with strong cost accounting experience who enjoys working cross-functionally, improving processes, and ensuring accuracy and visibility across financial operations.Key ResponsibilitiesManage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to cost accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting in a manufacturing environmentOversee the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and detailed variance analysisSupport revenue recognition processes, including Percentage of Completion (ASC 606)Analyze project financials, including cost-to-complete, margins, and forecastingHandle contract-related accounting, including unbilled and deferred revenue trackingPartner with operations and project teams to monitor costs, improve performance, and support decision-makingDrive standard costing and variance analysis across labor, materials, and overheadPrepare financial reports and provide insights to leadership on cost drivers and business performanceSupport budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling effortsIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalabilityRequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus on cost accountingSolid experience within a manufacturing environmentHands-on experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger activitiesExperience supporting project-based or long-term contract accounting environmentsKnowledge of revenue recognition principles, including ASC 606 / Percentage of CompletionExperience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel capabilitiesExcellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and partner cross-functionallyEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledTo read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate toThe Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable:• The California Fair Chance Act• Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance• Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers• San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance"
