Athletic Director/Academic Dean of Students - Job Description.Performance Responsibilities (Athletics):Schedule athletic events, officials, and transportation for all athletic events.Schedule athletic facilities along with the Principal in charge of building use.Supervise and/or schedule supervision for all home athletic events with the help of Administrative staff.Work closely with office staff in overseeing and monitoring financial reports for ticket sales, officials and workers pay, inventory, and sale of merchandise.Hire/appoint all workers for home athletic events (ticket sellers, concessions, scorers, timers, scoreboard operators, announcers, etc.)Use computer skills to work with the athletic scheduler and the officials software program.Make sure to schedule via contracts so the program helps keep track of the rotation of future games.Work closely with administrators and coaches from all grades to implement similar rules and guidelines in order to make transitions into high school sports positive.Communicate with high school coaches on their expectations of the middle school coaching staff.Supervise and mentor coaching staff. Provide coaching staff with a handbook on responsibilities, rules, regulations, and procedures. Conduct and annual review of the handbook.Provide input to the Building Administrator in charge of evaluating coaches. Be present during coaching evaluations with the Principal.Organize concessions for athletic events. Hire workers, order products, and be accountable for the cash boxes and receipts of all monies collected from concessions.Perform other duties as required by the Building Principal.Candidate must have a successful interview with the Building Principal.Dean of Students:Work with the building principal for monitoring students in and out of the building.Be visible.Handle smaller discipline situations involving tardies, attendance issues, and smaller class disruptions. Keep the Building Principal informed of recurring issues.(make sure to document disciplinary situations in the student data program)Assist the Building Principal during heavier discipline cases when witnesses or extra help is needed.Communicate with parents professionally.Contribute to student safety and work with WRV Police Department regarding prevention and/or through safety issues.Perform all other duties as assigned.Qualifications:State of Indiana Teaching license.Successful High School or Middle School coaching experience preferred.Technology Skills to use athletic scheduling software and analyze financial spreadsheets.Reliable, good organizational and communication skills, and ability to work well with students, parents, and staff.Preferred administration experience not required.Benefits include a well funded health insurance plan, dental, vision, life, and LTD.
