Controller

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to join their team. They are a family-owned company in the oil and gas/ retail industry. As the Controller, you will be responsible for month-end close, financial reporting, and overseeing a team of accountants. We are looking for a candidate who is dynamic, takes initiative, and maintains a positive attitude. Responsibilities: Manage key financial operations and provide oversight for multiple entities. Lead and supervise the accounting division, including managing the accounting department. Oversee accounts receivable/accounts payable and maintain vendor relationships. Implement and maintain robust accounting systems and controls to monitor accounting functions. Identify opportunities to reduce costs and increase revenue for the company. Develop, forecast, and manage budgets using historical data and trend analysis. Play a crucial role in driving strategic financial initiatives for the company. Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies related to taxes, finances, and accounting standards. Qualifications/Skills: Expertise in financial planning and strategy Experience in managing profitability Strong strategic planning and vision capabilities Commitment to quality management Drive for process improvement Proficient in forecasting Solid understanding of corporate finance Skilled in budget development Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or equivalent experience Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting and finance roles At least 3 years’ experience in a senior management position Experience in the retail industry is required, with a strong preference for experience in convenience stores or gas stations Familiarity with ODOT reporting Proficiency in accounting software, word processing, and spreadsheet tools Strong technical skills in GAAP and financial reporting Job Type: Full-time Pay: $120,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year Experience: GAAP: 1 year (Preferred) Ability to Commute: Fairview, OR (Required) Work Location: In person
