A growing, locally owned manufacturer in Western New York is seeking a Controller to take ownership of the organization’s full month-end close, financial reporting, and core accounting processes. This is an onsite role offering strong visibility across the business and daily interaction with senior leadership. What You’ll Do Lead all aspects of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, ensuring timely and accurate financial results. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, internal reporting packages, and variance analyses. Manage the general ledger, account reconciliations, journal entries, and internal controls. Partner closely with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives. Support audit activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with operations to understand production impacts on inventory, cost accounting, and plant-level financial performance. Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting accuracy, and strengthen financial systems. Ramp up into broader ownership of the accounting team’s workflow; initially no direct reports to allow for an effective onboarding period. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA a plus. 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial close processes. Experience working in a fast-paced environment with high transaction volume and operational complexity. Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to drive accuracy, consistency, and structure. Strong communication skills and the ability to partner with leaders across finance, operations, and production.
