PSL Production Supervisor (39392)
3rd SHIFT (11:45 PM - 8:15 AM)General ResponsibilitiesOversee all aspects of the Pre-Press/Printing Departments ensuring quality production. Provide technical support via developing, documenting, implementing, and monitoring the production process. Direct department employees to meet the needs of AFS printing business. Ensure employees are kept current on process and procedural changes while providing support to all personnel to achieve division goals. Essential Job Functions:Manage, control, and direct the day to day department operations, activities, and personnel in the divisionEnsure all quality and production issues are addressed and resolvedCollaborate with suppliers, customers, and sales staffDevelop and implement methods and procedures: process control, process improvement, testing and inspection ensuring products are free of flaws and function as designedAssist with analyzing customer and internal quality issues within Assist with product trials; focus of new product developmentSchedule manufacturing equipment to optimize efficiencies while maintaining quality controlWork closely with Customer Service to effectively process customer orders; ensure orders are shipped accurately and timelyMaintain housekeeping and cleanliness of production floorMaintain machinery to ensure efficiency: preventive maintenance; coordinate with Maintenance DepartmentAccurate reporting of production data and activitiesMaintain positive employee moraleOperate within department budgetMetric reporting; informing Director of issues Required Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of prior experience with flex printingAbility to work in a fast-pace environmentManagement/supervisory experienceComputer skills including Microsoft OfficeAbility to differentiate between color, shades, tones: vision testing requiredStrong understanding of all aspects of label construction/printing process, understanding of UV inks and associated coatingsMust have good math, design, written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications:A BS in Engineering, manufacturing engineering or related degree in a technical discipline is preferred or equivalent experience.
