That's where you come in.Position DescriptionAs a Senior Hardware Technician at Rockwell Automation, you will play a critical role in developing and testing next-generation industrial control products, including Programmable Logic Controllers and communication devices. You'll work hands-on with electronic prototypes, performing board-level analysis, troubleshooting, and PCBA rework to ensure product quality and reliability. You will collaborate with the development team to scope and execute product compliance testing aligned with industry-critical requirements set by CE, UL, MRR, and TUV.We are looking for someone who is team-oriented, passionate about learning, and committed to developing their skills. You will:• Collaborate on an agile team to design and develop new industrial automation products, including overall architecture and hardware verification. • Program, analyze, and troubleshoot electronic hardware prototypes. • Construct and configure test beds based on defined test requirements.• Execute product qualification testing and support regulatory compliance efforts by preparing product design documentation and test reports.• Build relationships across teams to deepen understanding of the product development lifecycle.• Contribute to a continuous improvement culture, refining engineering best practices.Minimum Qualifications• Associate's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or equivalent with a focus in electronics and circuit theory. • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job openingPreferred Qualifications• Minimum of 5 years of experience with electronics test, debug, and PCBA rework. • Strong electronic hardware troubleshooting skills using hardware test equipment, such as debuggers, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers• Ability to perform board level rework and modifications for Surface Mount Technology (SMT) designs (e.g., soldering, component replacement, trace cuts & adds)• Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics utilizing PCB schematic and layout viewers• Experience performing hands-on product certification testing, such as EMC testing to meet IEC 61010• Programming experience in Python and/or C++ with a passion for outside-the-box thinking to leverage these tools in automated test applications within hardware development• Experience working in a scaled Agile environment • Strong attention to detail and ownership• Excellent written and verbal communication • Growth mindset with willingness to learn, mentor and expand technical ownershipRockwell Automation is an Equal Opportunity Employer including disability and veterans.
