Position: SDET – Senior Associate / AssociateLocation: Tampa, FL OR Dallas, TX – Hybrid (Local candidate only )Important Submission RequirementBefore submitting any new candidate, the candidate must complete the required Glider assessment.Assessment: All new candidates must complete the required Glider assessment before submission.Position OverviewOur client is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join their Equities Delivery team. The role will support the modernization of legacy mainframe applications onto distributed systems.The SDET will be responsible for test automation development and execution, functional and non-functional testing, test strategy, and test design. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with automation frameworks, Selenium, API testing, CI/CD, and programming.The successful candidate will design, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests throughout the software delivery lifecycle while partnering with development and other technical teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests throughout the software delivery lifecycle.Develop and enhance test automation frameworks and supporting tools.Perform functional and non-functional testing across applications and distributed systems.Develop comprehensive test strategies and test designs for end-to-end testing scenarios.Maintain traceability from user stories and requirements through test cases and automated scripts.Identify testing dependencies and define and communicate environmental and test-data requirements.Partner with development and business teams to understand software requirements and create automated tests that validate functionality, privacy, and security requirements.Develop unit and automated test cases to ensure compliance with functional requirements.Implement and maintain continuous testing practices within software delivery processes.Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.Perform backend and API automation testing using Rest Assured and/or Karate.Troubleshoot test failures and collaborate with development and technical teams to resolve issues.Collaborate with internal and external teams on development, testing, troubleshooting, and overall software quality improvements.Act as a technical subject-matter expert for one or more applications.Research and evaluate technical solutions consistent with enterprise technology standards.Contribute expertise in software development and testing methodologies, tools, and technologies.Apply risk and control processes to day-to-day responsibilities to identify, monitor, and mitigate risk, escalating issues appropriately.Stay current with changes in technology and testing practices and proactively pursue opportunities to expand technical knowledge.Required Qualifications4+ years of relevant experience for Associate level or 6+ years for Senior Associate level.Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.Strong hands-on experience with test automation.Strong experience with Selenium and automation frameworks such as TestNG.Strong programming experience in at least one language, preferably Java or Python.Hands-on experience with API/backend test automation, particularly Rest Assured and/or Karate.Experience with CI/CD technologies and tools such as Jenkins, CloudBees, Bitbucket, Git, Cucumber, JUnit, and Jira.Strong knowledge of automated testing methodologies and best practices.Good understanding of databases and hands-on experience writing and optimizing SQL queries.Experience with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.Experience working with onsite/offshore or geographically distributed teams.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environmentExperience testing modernization initiatives involving legacy/mainframe applications and distributed systems.Experience designing and enhancing enterprise-level automation frameworks.Experience implementing automated testing as part of CI/CD pipelines.Knowledge of software quality, security, privacy, and risk-control practices.Experience with end-to-end testing of complex enterprise applications.
