Project Manager I Environmental Air Emissions Stack Testing

Summary/ObjectiveA Project Manager I is an exempt position. A PM1 can manage basic field test programs and is expected to perform all Project Scientist requirements. Additionally, a PM1 serves as the company’s in-field representative to interface with clients and regulatory personnel.Essential FunctionsThis position reports directly to the OM and performs the duties they are assignedConduct on-site field testing – Proven competencies with wet chemistry and/or instrumental sampling methodologies through standardized written and practical examsFollow current standards, codes, and procedures regarding safe and effective use of equipment, maintenance programs and other policies as requiredEnsure the company is represented in a professional manner while at customer sites and in the officeTrain Project Scientists 1, 2 and 3 on field procedures, test methods, calibrations, etc., following company guidanceSuccessfully adheres to the Health and Safety Program Manual and ensures that team members under supervision also complySafety and DOT Compliance:Successfully adheres to Health and Safety Program ManualFollows all DOT requirements as trained to do soProperly uses the Electronic Logging Device (ELD)Responsible and held accountable in ensuring that all team members comply with safety and DOT requirements in the field and officeMaintains good driving records with Alliance vehicles with all ELD records currentLeads toolbox, job safety analysis, emergency action plan, and other safety meetingsHas the ability to pick and use the proper PPE for the task at hand and ensure that team members are using itInteract with customers to understand specific safety issues at their jobsiteOffice ResponsibilitiesMaintains a clean and organized facilitySupervise equipment packing for projects and ensure calibrations are currentTrain junior staff as neededSupervise/delegate tasks to keep personnel productive and follow up on task completionField ResponsibilitiesPreparation of the test team for the scope of work prior to mobilization. Contact the Operations Manager or Client Account Manager (CAM) for a pre-job briefingReview of chain(s) of custody, templates, and sample labelsContact client prior to mobilization to confirm testing events and scheduleServes as the company’s in-field representative to interface with clients and regulatory personnelCompletion of the Daily Activities Summary (DAS) dailySupervise sample collection, chain of custody, and sample shipmentUpdate ATLAS with project information, including data submittal datesDemonstrates effective and consistent leadership of field teamsReviews all project preliminary data for accuracy and completeness, prior to submittalFamiliarity with CEMs sampling system and diagnosing field issuesCommunicates and interacts with clients, regulators, and field teamCollects and uploads required plant process data for a projectTrains PS1s, PS2s, and PS3s their proper field dutiesEnsure quality data collectionReview and upload data to the secure AST server each test dayRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma requiredAS or BS degree preferred (Science and Engineering related fields ideal)Minimum 18 months emissions testing experienceWet chemistry or instrumental method knowledge and equipment operation competenciesSource Evaluation Society QI (or QSTI) in either Group 1 or 3The ability to read, understand, and follow test protocolsComputer skills - Intermediate skill level of Word, Excel, Adobe, OutlookKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesSafety First AttitudeExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skillsStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsGood verbal communication skills (Internally and with Clients and Regulators).
