FRONT DESK AGENT PM ShiftJob DescriptionTitle: Front Desk Agent MUST be able to work-Holidays, Weekends and PM ShiftDivision: Hotel - Rooms Department: Front Desk Reports to: Front Desk Supervisor/Manager Job summaryGreet and register guests, providing prompt and courteous service, and closing out guest accounts upon completion of stay. The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below or though the exercise of sound, reasonable judgment and initiative in the performance of job responsibilities. Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. Summary of essential job functionsGreet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome, using a positive and clear speaking voiceListen to and understand requests, and respond with appropriate actionProvide action and provide accurate information such as outlet hours and local attraction locationsComplete the registration process by inputting and retrieving information from a computer system, confirming pertinent information including the number of guests, length of stay, and the room rateMake appropriate selection of rooms based on guest needsCode electronic keysVerify and run credit and debit cardsPromptly answer the telephone using clear and positive English Close guest accounts at time of check out and ascertain satisfaction Educational/Experience RequirementsPrior hospitality experience preferred High school graduate Abilities RequiredSkill in use of a calculatorAbility to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflictsAbility to stand and move throughout front office and continuously perform essential job functionsAbility to read, listen to and effectively communicate in EnglishAbility to access and effectively input information using a moderately complex computer systemHearing and visual; ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being preformed by people assigned to this classification.
