Corporate Controller

Title: Corporate ControllerCompensation: $200,000 - $250,000 base + BonusLocation: Irvine, CAEmail your word document resume to Megan.S@conexusrecruiting.com and reference the subject as Corporate Controller.Job Description: We are partnering with a growing Architecture & Engineering organization to identify a strong Controller to lead core accounting operations and support a complex, multi-entity business environment. This individual will report directly to the CFO and oversee a high-performing accounting team in a project-based operating environment.The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical accounting expertise, operational leadership, and experience managing accounting functions across multiple entities, states, and currencies. This is a highly visible leadership role within a collaborative and growth-oriented organization.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including oversight of the accounting team and month-end close processEnsure accurate and timely financial reporting across multiple entities and locationsOversee compliance, audit coordination, and internal controlsSupport multi-state and multi-currency accounting operationsPartner closely with operational leaders to support a project-based business environmentManage and improve accounting processes, policies, and reporting proceduresAssist with tax coordination and compliance activities as neededPartner with the CFO on strategic initiatives, process improvements, and special projectsMentor and develop accounting staff, including a strong Assistant Controller already in placeQualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA strongly preferred8+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilitiesPrior Controller or Assistant Controller experience preferredExperience in Architecture & Engineering, professional services, construction, or other project-based industries highly preferredStrong understanding of multi-entity, multi-state, and multi-currency environmentsExperience leading audits and managing compliance requirementsWorking knowledge of tax and regulatory considerationsStrong communication, leadership, and organizational skillsAbility to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
