Approved through the Department of Education, our comprehensive program is seeking a certified special education teacher to join our team full of compassionate and knowledgeable professionals. Our ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience in a self-contained classroom.EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Bachelor's degree in Special EducationValid AZ Department of Education Cross Categorial/Mild-Moderate CertificationValid IVP card, CPR and First AidExperience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) a plusMust be able to lift up to 40 lbs; must be able to bend, stretch, reach, twist, walk, run and stand for an extended period of timeAttend and maintain Safety Care certification (training provided by Beyond Autism)Valid and unrestricted driver's license and reliable transportationPunctual, optimistic, and solutions-based thinkerCreative, excellent interpersonal skills and able to remain positive during challenging situationsRESPONSIBILITIES:Ability to assess needs, develop and implement the IEP, and evaluate outcomesConduct academic and related assessmentsMaintain an organized and safe environment for students and team membersCollect and analyze data with team members and BCBASupport the implementation of behavior strategies under the direction of the BCBAImplement a schedule incorporating ABA strategies into all aspects of curriculum including academics, life skills, and social skillsCommunicate with parents in a positive and empathetic mannerTeach individual, small and large groupsMaintain all required documentation and student recordsProvide crisis intervention when necessaryProvide support to fellow team members in a respectful and positive mannerConduct weekly team meetingsCollaborate with consulting professionalsAttend all Beyond Autism trainingsAdhere to the policies and procedures set forth in our handbookSupport the mission and vision of Beyond AutismDETAILS:Part-time, year round program
