The Center for the Functional Restoration of the Spine (CFRS) is proud to be a trusted destination for comprehensive spine care in Shrewsbury, Edison, and Toms River, NJ. Our physicians specialize in diagnosing and treating a wide range of spine conditions, helping patients relieve pain, restore function, and improve their quality of life. We are currently seeking a Medical Scribe to support Dr. Marc S. Menkowitz, a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon. Dr. Menkowitz is known for his patient-first philosophy and individualized approach to care, taking the time to fully understand each patient’s condition and develop thoughtful, personalized treatment plans. This is a unique opportunity to work side-by-side with a highly experienced spine specialist and gain real, hands-on exposure to patient care, clinical decision-making, and advanced orthopedic procedures in a fast-paced specialty practice.
In this role, you’ll be present during patient visits, documenting clinical encounters in real time and helping ensure accurate, complete medical records. You’ll gain valuable insight into how physicians evaluate spine conditions, interpret imaging, and develop treatment plans — making this an ideal role for someone pursuing a future in healthcare. What You’ll Do
Clinical support & real-time documentation
Accompany Dr. Menkowitz during patient visits and document encounters in real time in the EMR
Capture patient history, exam findings, and treatment plans accurately
Document physician interpretation of imaging including X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans
Support clinical workflow
Prepare charts ahead of clinic by reviewing prior notes, imaging, and medical history
Enter orders, referrals, and follow-up instructions as directed
Help ensure documentation is complete and ready for physician review
Stay organized and detail-focused
Track follow-ups such as imaging results and referrals
Maintain accurate, timely documentation to support patient care and billing
Uphold strict patient confidentiality and professionalism
What We’re Looking For
Strong attention to detail and ability to listen and document quickly
Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
Professional, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality
High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) preferred
Strong interest in healthcare, medicine, or clinical experience (great for pre-med, PA, nursing paths)
Prior scribe or medical office experience is a plus, but not required

Compensation & Benefits
Hourly rate: $17 to $20 per hour
