We specialize in full-service mechanical solutions which include engineering, coordination, prefabrication assembly, construction, service, and maintenance.Reports To:S/P-Sr. Forman S/P- Superintendent and Assigned S/P Project ManagerJob Summary:One-time sign on bonus $5,000.00. Oversee jobsite, coordinate manpower, process all required paperwork (i.e. meaningful daily reports, RFI's, As-built drawings), and working along with crew using tools when time permits or the project dictates. Be fully prepared to install the equipment called for on the job site i.e. RTU, AHU, Boiler VAV's, etc. Build projects in accordance with the plans, specifications, and IOM's while maintaining all clearances and code requirements at a high level of quality installation.Requirements:ExperienceMinimum of 7 years in the HVAC trade.EducationHigh School Diploma or G.E.DAdvance HVAC technical training. (Experience may be substituted for education)LicensesCFC Certification (Universal preferred)HVAC Master's (preferred) Journeyman's (minimum) (or obtain in a timely manner once employed)NATE CertificationsValid Driver's license in good standing (to drive company vehicle)OSHA – 30 (Or obtain in a timely manner once employed)Physical and Work ScheduleThis job does have a degree of physical requirements.Able to lift five to seventy pounds (5-70lbs), with or without assistance, frequently.Able to sit, stand, bend, walk, climb, place both hands over your head, and remain in static positions for the duration of shift.Able to withstand exposure to heights, tight/confined spaces; work in dusty areas; work in temperature extremes; be exposed to external elements (wind, rain, snow, etc.)Able to work Monday-Friday with occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Must be able to be flexible with work schedule.High School Diploma or equivalent (experience may be substituted for education)Own Reliable Transportation – go to sites in Metro DC as assigned/needed (including Maryland and Virginia)Duties and ResponsibilitiesProject PlanningPossess a complete understanding of our scope of work and contractual relationship (i.e. S&D prime or S&D subcontractor)Read and understand all plans, specifications, and equipment installation instructions for the projectHave a complete understanding of all subcontractor's scope responsibilitiesHave a complete understanding of the control sequences and control work required for the projectHave a complete understanding of electrical requirements for equipment we are providing (verify all voltages)Check submittals against specifications to make sure they matchWork with P.M. pre-write RFI's and forward to the Project ManagerReview labor reports and notify the project manager if labor budgets are unreasonable or will not be metMaintain 2-week PlannerProject Oversite and ExecutionEffective communications with S&D's client (either GC superintendent, on-site owner's representative, or owner direct)Coordinate manpower with Superintendent and/or designated assistant. Provide manpower needs (add or subtract) as timely as possibleSchedule subcontractors to the job site when neededReport all material shortages to Purchasing promptlyEnsure all material and equipment is properly checked in.Report all equipment discrepancies to the project manager.Morning huddles (discuss daily goals, safety hazards, etc)Conduct weekly safety meetingsMake materials request list and submit to purchasing with three or more days' noticeCoordinate deliveries of materialsAttend all progress meetings as requiredCoordinate work with other tradesDouble-check all installations (Q.C Job Daily)Call for inspections and walk the job with the inspectorLayout the job with the lead manMake sure work and equipment will fit with proper service clearancesEnforce S&D's Safety PlanEnsure adherence to all of the company's policiesReport injuries to the safety director or HR immediatelyCoordinate equipment start-up with S/P superintendent, project manager, and equipment vendorsMaintain a running punch-list and work it off to minimize the punch list at the conclusion of the projectReview estimating and cost reportsAvoid the additional cost of overtime by planning material and manpower requirementsNotify the project manager when additional work outside of our contract is requestedSupervise start time, pick up time, and breaksCommunicate job progress and issues with the project manager dailyJob site parking may or may not be provided. (Park in approved spots only)Project DocumentationContact Superintendent or Project Manager when you're not in receipt of project documentationKeep project documents up to date to ensure that the work is being installed using the latest drawings, specs, or sketchesMaintain and submit Daily Reports daily.Fill out job invoices for extra workMaintain project photosMaintain As-built drawings.Maintain copies of equipment start-up reportsLeadershipKeep crew and crew leaders involved in all aspects of the projectLet people know when they are doing wellWrite up personnel that needs warning notices.
