Need experience with a Commercial General ContractorJob SummaryThe Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing all on-site operations for commercial construction projects, serving as the primary field leader for the General Contractor. This role ensures projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in strict accordance with contract documents, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The Superintendent coordinates subcontractors, inspectors, and internal project teams from mobilization through final turnover.Key ResponsibilitiesField Operations & LeadershipDirect and coordinate all on-site construction activities across multiple commercial tradesLead subcontractor planning, sequencing, and daily manpower coordinationEnforce company safety program and OSHA regulations; conduct daily safety meetings and site inspectionsMaintain jobsite organization, cleanliness, and logistics planningSchedule & Quality ControlExecute and maintain the project schedule in coordination with the Project ManagerMonitor productivity and proactively resolve field conflicts, constructability issues, and delaysEnsure all work meets contract documents, approved submittals, and quality standardsPerform QA/QC inspections and manage punch list activitiesDocumentation & ComplianceReview and interpret construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittalsCoordinate all required inspections, testing, and permit approvalsMaintain daily reports, safety logs, manpower counts, and photo documentationTrack and support resolution of RFIs, field directives, and change eventsCoordination & CommunicationServe as primary on-site liaison with owners, architects, engineers, and inspectorsParticipate in OAC meetings and lead subcontractor coordination meetingsCollaborate closely with Project Managers on cost impacts, schedule updates, and risk mitigationCloseout & TurnoverOversee substantial completion, punch list resolution, and final inspectionsCoordinate closeout documentation, warranties, as-builts, and turnover packagesSupport commissioning and owner training as requiredQualifications3–12+ years of experience as a Superintendent with a Commercial General ContractorProven experience managing ground-up, tenant improvement, and renovation projectsStrong knowledge of commercial construction means and methods across all major tradesDemonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors and complex site logisticsExcellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsEducation & CertificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Construction Management degree preferredOSHA 30-hour certification requiredProcore or similar construction management software proficiency requiredFirst Aid/CPR certification preferredTechnology & ToolsProcore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, MS Project, and mobile field reporting toolsAbility to read and interpret BIM models a plusWork EnvironmentFull-time, on-site role with a commercial jobsite focusMay require extended hours, weekends, and travel based on project demands
