We are looking for team members who are ready to be empowered to go above and beyond.JOB SUMMARYThe Senior Sales Manager is responsible for generating top-line revenue through strategic prospecting, account development, and group sales execution. This role focuses on building high-value corporate, association, SMERF, and lifestyle-driven group business that aligns with the property's brand positioning and revenue strategy.The ideal candidate is a proactive hunter, disciplined closer, and strategic thinker who understands displacement, group ceilings, and rate integrity not just room night production.Key ResponsibilitiesProactively solicit new group and corporate business aligned with ADR targetsMaintain and grow a portfolio of high-value accountsDevelop and execute quarterly action plans tied to budgeted segmentation goalsPartner with Revenue Management to evaluate displacement and optimize mixSupport occupancy-first and rate-optimization strategies as directedAccount ManagementConduct site visits, client entertainment, and local market engagementMaintain strong relationships with meeting planners, corporate travel managers, and third-party intermediariesEnsure accurate and timely proposals, contracts, and follow-upsMonitor account production vs. goals and adjust strategy as neededSales Systems & ReportingMaintain CRM accuracy (Delphi/THYNK or equivalent)Manage pace reporting and booking activity weeklyForecast group production and pipeline integrityParticipate in weekly revenue strategy meetingsOn-Property EngagementConduct property toursSupport key group arrivals and VIP experiencesCollaborate with Conference Services and Operations to ensure seamless executionRepresent Lone Star Court within The Domain and Austin business communityPerformance ExpectationsQuarterly and annual group revenue production (actualized revenue)ADR integrity on contracted businessNet new account acquisitionPace performance vs. budgetProspecting activity and pipeline healthContribution to overall RevPAR index improvementCompensation StructureBase Salary (commensurate with experience)Quarterly incentive tied to group revenueBenefits package per Valencia Hotel Group standardsBASICSMaintain cleanliness and organization in all work areasDisplay courteous behavior with guests and team membersEnsure hotel equipment is in proper working conditionPerform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisorSafety & ComplianceComply with Valencia Hotel Group (and its affiliates) standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.Report unsafe conditionsEnsure to complete all required certification, harassment, and safety and security trainingReport any incidents and create an incident report on the same dayPhysical RequirementsSitting: FrequentlyStanding/Walking: Frequently to include walking approximately one block to/from hotel location.Lifting/Carrying: typically, less than 15lbs; occasionally lifting and carryingOther Physical Requirements: handling/grasping paperwork; phone and computer device usage frequentlyWorking EnvironmentInterior: Primarily indoor office setting; All guest and back of the house areas to include walking on carpet/tile, hard wood flooring, concrete, stairs, elevator usage and back of house areas to include walking though the kitchen area on occasion.Exterior: On occasion exposure to weather conditions and elements also to include walking on tile and concrete, stair usage, elevator usage.QualificationsESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSQualifications3+ years hotel group sales experience (lifestyle or boutique preferred)Strong negotiation and closing skillsUnderstanding of displacement analysis and group ceilingsExperience with CRM and revenue management collaborationEstablished network within Austin corporate and association markets preferredBachelor's degree preferredCore CompetenciesStrategic SellingRate DisciplineRelationship BuildingAnalytical ThinkingProfessional CommunicationBrand RepresentationBenefits:Health, dental, and vision insurance.Retirement savings plan.Paid time off and holidays.Professional development and training opportunities.Employee discounts on hotel stays and amenitiesClick here to learn moreJoin our dynamic team at Hotel Valencia Riverwalk and be part of a culture that values excellence, innovation, and teamwork.
